I’m sitting here with a glass of red wine, wearing my comfy Uggs, and pretending it feels like fall outside all while dreaming of wearing the new Fall 2025 trends actually out of the house. However, if there’s one thing I believe stylish girls know, it’s that trends are fun, but they’re not rules. They’re the suggestions whispering try this, mix that, play a little. So let’s lean into what’s feeling alive this season, what’s pushing boundaries, and how you can take each vibe and make it yours.
Let’s break down some trends I’m seeing (and feeling) for Fall 2025.
Color. This fall it’s all about rich colors and especially jewel tones. Burnt plum, deep emerald, chocolate brown…these aren’t just accents anymore. Bold color is stepping out of the shadows. The neutrals stick around, of course, but expect them to be deep, warm, saturated, with hints of metallic or contrast.

Leather. Leather always makes a comeback this time of year, but this year the way it shows up is evolving. Think full monochrome leather fits, trenches, and other textures mixed with leather (leather + lace, leather + knit) to give contrast.

Denim. It started during that new pre-fall era, and it’s not going away. And I don’t just mean your standard jeans. Denim everywhere. Denim dresses, denim jumpsuits, and denim sets complete with tailored denim pants and vests.

Lace. I’m going to be honest. I didn’t see this one coming for fall. But it’s here! Lace isn’t all Victorian ruffles and frills these days (though that’s part of the mood). It’s lace peeking out (cuffs, collars), lace layered over unexpected under‑pieces, lace in darker or jewel tones. It’s intimate without being over‑sweet. And if you’re looking for that perfect special event dress, you’re going to find slip dresses with lace details.

Prints & Plaids. I’m so happy about this one. It took me a long time to get into animal prints, but I’m here now. Thank you for having me. We’re used to seeing all the big cat prints (leopard, cheetah, etc.), but cow print is everywhere right now. I’ve got my eye on some heeled clogs in calf print (faux, of course). And plaid. I did see this trend coming. And I’m so happy it’s here. But I don’t mean a plaid oversized shacket (that’s really not my thing), and I really really don’t mean a button down flannel shirt (even more so not my thing). I mean plaid pants, plaid dresses, and tailored plaid jackets. Take plaid, make it classy, and pair it with simple basics.

Accessory Maximalism. The more the better. I know Coco Chanel told us to check our accessories at the door and always remove one item, but this trend does not agree. I’m seeing 2, 3, or even 5 brooches on a cardigan or coat. Necklace layering. All the charms. Fringe, tassels, layers, movement, yet balanced with sleek lines. The aesthetic is becoming less about “quiet luxury” and more about meaningful detail. Think your outfit is complete? Nope. Add one more item.

Now that you have the Fall 2025 trends, let’s talk about what you can do with them.
Because knowing the trends is one thing; weaving them into your style is something else. Here are some ways I’m pairing these trends (or planning to), plus ideas you might want to try.
Layer. A slip dress under a leather jacket, or a lace blouse peeking under a blazer. Texture contrast is everything. Let it have a collar, shape, maybe in a bold color or interesting material.
Invest in one statement piece. Maybe those amazingly beautiful boots that level up every outfit. Or a loud coat that becomes your fall uniform.
Balance. If you go full leather or full print, let the rest of the outfit be calm — think clean knit, simple boots. Let that main piece shine.
Accessorize. Belts are in (although I’m not the most comfortable with these yet). Boots with personality, scarves, maybe even hats. These are ways that can easily shift your look without spending a ton. You probably already have some of these things in the back of your closet.
Wear color that feels good. If jewel tones aren’t your thing, find a muted version or accent in accessories. You don’t have to go head‑to‑toe ruby red to love the richness.
When I read blogs or posts about trends, I immediately want to buy one of everything and play with fashion. But you don’t have to do that. And I don’t recommend it. It’s a trend. It may not last forever. And you may not even like it.
Don’t feel pressure to buy it all.
- Pick one or two trends that resonate, let those guide your shopping.
- Be conscious of quality — texture shows. Leather, suede, lace — how they wear, how they move, how they age, matters.
- Fit your trend to your lifestyle. If thigh‑high boots are fire, but impractical for your walk to work, try a mid‑boot or a riding boot style instead.
- Color over trend: trends fade, personal style lasts. If brown or emerald works better with your coloring or your wardrobe, let that be your baseline.
This fall feels like one of the most alive seasons in a while. There’s romantic nostalgia with lace, velvet, heritage checks, but also grit, shape, texture. The kind of season that makes what you wear matter, without being overly precious. It’s inviting you to play: with layering, with color, with silhouette.
I’m excited for what we’ll all wear. Because whether you’re stepping into riding boots at dawn or slipping into lace at night, you’ll have fun trying. And that’s what fashion is all about.
Want more of a push to try the trends? Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing a fun way to play in the next few days!
